Sometimes... (update)

Update: I just wanted to clear up some confusion. After reading everyone's comments, though some understood what I meant, I just wanted to say that I'm not talking about art critics or even some deep comment about why you like a particular drawing.

I'm trying to say that I think if someone is going to leave a comment, they should actually comment to the "artist". The one who "drew" the picture. Ya know? Telling me you like Princess Zelda or Optimus Prime isn't a comment directed to "me" as the artist. It is a comment directed to the creator of the character since I didn't make the character.

When I draw fan art, sure I like to know you guys like the characters, too or the games or movies or whatever it is, but I DID do art and I'd like to know that you left me a comment because you actually liked the drawing. Just saying "hey, nice art" or "I like your coloring" or whatever is something. It's a comment to "me" and what "I" have done.

I get a lot of comments where people just say "Oh I love that character". or "They are so hot!". My comment section isn't a message board for you to tell me how much you like something. I'd like to know you liked the part I did, too. The art itself.

Drawing fanart sucks...

Why do so many people go on about the content and not the art?

I realize I did fan art and it is to be expected people are looking at it for the character but come on... if I draw a picture of Darth Vader and your only comment on my art is "Vader is SOooOOooOoooo cool" Why? Go tell George Lucas he is cool, I didn't make him so why are you telling me? Why don't you tell me my art is cool?

Why do people only go on about the events in the book/movie/game or tell me the character is hot? I don't give a shit.

If you're gonna comment, you could at least have the decency to mention the part "I" did...

Back from week with no internet &Transformers

Been moving all week... I've never moved before and technically this isn't "me" moving, but helping my boyfriend move to a new place.

Thing was, we moved into a place that didn't have lines capable of high speed... so had to wait all week to get internet back, and because I am staying with him, that meant no internet for me, either.

Though I am sure no one noticed >_>

BUT... on to something more exciting? What did you guys think of the second Transformers movie?

Saw it opening day and I enjoyed it but I have to admit, the first one had a lot more charm. Everything in the second one moved so quickly. Jumped from scene to scene. No real introduction to new characters. Steve's beautiful music was cut too often. It was a bit disappointing. I did keep up with the TF blog all year so I did know a lot of things ahead of time that I didn't know when I saw the first movie. A lot of the trailer scenes and special blue ray clips I had seen so many times before the movie, the thrill wasn't there anymore by the time I actually got to watch the movie... so in a way that probably ruined it a bit for me, too.

But it was still good. I haven't seen it a second time yet. Hopefully sometime this week.

I felt a bit awkward about Starscream at first. Him being my official favorite character, I was worried about how much they might change him. Especially when I heard they were going to make him more G1. I hate G1 Starscream.... ok hate is a strong word. He is good for the lulz but by no means a favorite.

But surprisingly, even though they did change him, I was prepared for it and it was actually kinda... cute? Only character that comes to mind in comparison is the Griffin character from Quest for Camelot. RotF Starscream is certainly not the strong leader I was so use to picturing him being all this time since the first movie. How the book and comics and even video games portrayed him, sure he wasn't "typical" Starscream but that was what made him so unique and cool... however this "version" of him is cool, too. Gotta admit he looked pretty adorable *spoiler* sitting on his behind reattaching his arm after Megs just scolded him. *end spoiler*

Just thought I'd toss in my two cents about that since he is important to me after all and most looked forward part of the movie.

... Oh geez so many people died in this movie. Wtf.

Something interesting?

~requiem677 had left me a comment on one of my Heather and Neelix drawings ([link]). He pointed out the alien on the screen in the background. I think he was the first to mention it.

I'm bringing this up since it is a little bit of info for those of you who are interested in my comic and may like to see.

I replied saying:

"He is my alien DJ that I will be including in the comic. I had drawn a scene of Heather and Neelix dancing at a nightclub on the space station with the DJ in the back.

The inspiration from that scene came from the song "Can't Believe" by Stromkern because some of the lyrics I can't make out so I just imagined this weird purple large mouthed alien singing it with neon lights dancing around everywhere. Plus of course, I love the song and imagine a nightclub scene to begin with. :-)

You can listen to it here if you'd like: [link]
"

I first heard that song in Crackdown back in early 2007. A video game for the Xbox 360 that is probably most well known for having the Halo 3 Beta on it. I fell in love with the song and it always made me think of Heather and Neelix for some reason.

Oh, and this is really awesome: [link]

Dammit. I really wanted to get my drawing done in time for my b-day today but oh well. MAYBE I'll be able to squeeze it in before 12 my time (EST).

It's a pic of my new persona since I haven't had one since my Owl anthro character. I'm excited to get it done so I can also use it as my ID pic. :)

I also joined Twitter a week ago or whenever. I actually like the whole idea behind Twitter. Not posting stupid things like "HEY GUYS I just took a shit!" and other dumb things like that... but to actually make tiny updates about things I think are cool without making a whole journal about it.

I'm just not really much of the journal type. Even now I feel awkward typing this up. ;__; but I like just.. posting little updates here and there.

I gotta do some new CSS, too now that I got my sub back. Yeah I caved in. Some of the new features were really pretty neat and I hated how I had a sub for so long and NOTHING came out... then I say "fuck it" to resubscribing and they bring out all this neat shit a month later. Thanks deviantART... ¬_¬

Hey everyone, it's been awhile.

First journal of 2009 and just thought I'd make a little update. Hope everyone can actually see this journal since I removed it from my front page... which I thought was nice since dA made journals some big deal here when most people just used them to rant (guilty) and that kinda stuff shouldn't be all up on your front page anyway.

I'm enjoying deviantART's new update, though. Actually makes me wanna subscribe again. Didn't bother to renew it because I didn't see a point. I'm not as active here much other then checking messages and looking at art every now and then... but I am glad we're able to remove some things from our page.

I was going to wait until AFTER I submitted my drawing to make a journal about this buuuut... how many of you are excited to see Transformers Revenge of the Fallen teaser trailer at the Super Bowl? Assuming of course you guys knew about it to begin with. D:

Maybe I kinda just ruined the surprise...

Anyway, I've been working hard all month to get my Transformers related drawing done. I started working on this thing back at the end of September. Off and on.. and finally it is almost finished. I'm really excited about it and what a perfect way to get all hyped about the new movie this year. I am excited as hell. Gonna bust myself if that trailer is good... gotta remember it is just a "teaser" trailer so who knows what they will be showing.

So yeah. I suppose that is all for now and go Obama. :flagus:
