of her original dragon character, Erkeh.
Murra pretty much gave me full control over all the details, as she mentioned how she wanted to see my own take on her character. As much as I'm an accuracy whore, I always love to see characters in different styles, too so I can completely relate with her interest in seeing how I'd personally draw him.
It was a difficult choice to take on a dragon character, as they were not something I was able to offer during these special commissions, mostly because of the huge elegant wings that often require a fair amount of time to position right (especially when using perspective). It's more difficult because I still draw out everything in pencil on physical paper, and wings often require me to add an additional 2 sheets of 8.5x11 sized paper to the drawing. But because Erkeh is unique in that his wings were damaged, it was more akin to just adding an extra set of limbs.
Even though I believe she said a wintery scene wouldn't be canon, I was glad she was ok with me adding it in as I always love to add even a small touch of winter to anything I draw this time of year, and when planning the BG, this warm industrial glow came to mind with the cold contrast of blue and snow.

Cool piece, the lighting and shading effects really accentuate an interesting character design.
