About this Comic: For new viewers
"Everything Under the Stars" is my original science fiction romance story between a human girl and an alien. She is abducted from present day Earth and sold as a slave on a multicultural alien occupied space station. Please check out the links below for more information.
I'm slowly catching up to the updated story, so when I saw this I was like "Wait...where the hell is Neelix?!" Guess I have to hurry and read some more to know what is going on. There is no way Neelix is dropping out of the story for Gale after seeing the cover art for the written version lol.
Really glad to be seeing more of EUTS and it looks great in comic book form!
I love the written version as it adds a lot to imagination but I do find myself wondering how everything in this story looks in your original vision. Are you planning to redo the previous chapters in this version? Or maybe have an illustration or two for each chapter?
I would love to redo the previous chapters as comic pages at some point, along with detailed illustrations, too, but I admit it's very time consuming and I'd like to continue forward for now instead of back tracking so I have more new story content to share.
Though I really want to get some environmental drawings up to show off the the many different areas on the station, along with illustrations for future chapters, too. It's just a juggle to decide what I want to do and what would really benefit the story. c:
A great second page to follow the first one (: The music is a great addition to the mood, although I'd say you really express it well enough even without music! And as for what happens on this page; I love how you allow yourself to spend so much time on something as simple as the way they get to the bar, there's so much emotion and worry. I luv this As always, excited to see more (:
Thank you very much, Anna! You know how I am with music though so I had to include something, XD especially since I've been listening to this type of music the most while working on the comic and chapter. It's exactly the feel and focus I was going for.
Funny you mentioned that. I was wondering if I put too much into just a small part of the chapter, though I really wanted that impact of being introduced to a new place for the first time. c:
I hate how you can't edit comments. Accidentally pressed enter before I was ready. We've seen those squat little tan/blue aliens before, haven't we? The same species as Heather's abductors? I like your continuation of similar species throughout the station
Ah! Love this. The bright light contrasting with dark shadows really makes the whole comic seem to vibrate with tension and life. You captured Heathers unsure movement so well! I think I would be pretty nervous to be caught in a place like that so I have no doubt that Heather feels the same without Neelix.
Thank you so much, RP! Imagine how Neelix feels! D:
And yup, those are the same species (not the same individuals, though.. or maybe they could be.. *shiftyeyes* ). I considered putting some other species, too, like Veeno's since while his species isn't as common as Gale's, there are a few on the station, but I thought it might be confusing. Didn't want anyone to think Veeno was there, lol. It works out better this way though since I really wanted to focus in on Gale's people (and other species with similar interests/behaviors), which the chapter will go in depth about.
I have to say, your style has definitely improved from when you first began.
I have always liked your way of drawing your character's anatomies, but this is truly a well done comic strip from your previous works! I like how it is also very colorful and where you've increased and receded lighting, making it more dimensional than just plain old boring concrete colors.
You have truly outdone yourself here and as always, you leave me gasping at how wonderful a job you have accomplished.
Kudos to you and your project EUTS, I will be waiting eagerly for more!
Thank you ninufaa, I really appreciate your comment and support! It's always great to know I'm improving and I think experimenting with digital media and getting an art tablet earlier this year has allowed me to learn and do things I wasn't able to before. As much as I love my traditional art, there is no denying it has its limitations at times, and certainly has me weary to try things in fear of permanently ruining the artwork. OTL
I know, but It seems this went from 'W-very-much-still-IP' to 'finished' without me catching anything ._. I mean when I last logged in, we were still debating whether the reptilian gal looked okay with orange stripes.
