I can't even tell you how pissed I am at my scanner right now. It completely ruined this and I don't have the patience to keep messing with it in PS right now to even figure out if it's salvageable. I'm beginning to think it would be best to set things up so I can just take photos of all my colorful traditional art. God dammit.

    Today is China's Mid-Autumn Festival.. I really couldn't pass up the chance to do something like this, especially since the idea of surrounding Shen with lanterns had come to mind quite awhile ago, so I just incooperated it for the festival idea.

    I added symbolism, since the festival is a celebration of the moon and unity with family. Shen is holding a moon cake which represents both of those aspects; staring down at it remembering how things used to be.

    Though I started it earlier this week, I worked on it like crazy all night with a bad cold.. tissues stuffed up my nose most of the time, to get it finished for today. I'm going to go sleep now. OTL /passes out

If THIS is what happens when your picture is "ruined" by the scanner. Then I think the real picture would kill be because of its beauty! This is so, so, so beautiful! Its visuals are amazing and the symbolism is perfect!

Maybe I should check my dA more often...School and this Tournament I'm prepping for is getting in the way. It's like every time I come back stuff is burried and I need to wade through a ton of stuff. Though I'm glad I did today.
I love the colors of this one. It really does feel like Autumn or the end of Summer even. And the depth of the color is just remarkable too. I'm just loving all your fan art! :la: I would love to see this matted and framed to be honest.

I hope you're feeling better by now from your cold. :hug: Flus and Colds suck so bad.
